Xtravision
Xtravision was Ireland's largest chain of DVD rental stores. It was founded in 1979 and at its peak, the company was worth over €27 million and was opening an average of 10 stores a week. It began to decline in the early 1990's and eventually closed completely in January 2016.
Mission Statement
Xtravision holds nostalgic memories for us, as children we remember the trips to the store to pick up a VHS to watch with our families, it was an experience. We aim to restart xtravision by breathing new life into a company that has lost its way in recent years, to create this new experience we plan to create pop up cinema screening around Dublin aimed at film fans, and to create a community of like minded people to attend these events, these screenings will be accompanied by a social media presence and an informative website for people to learn more about the new Xtravision.
